The Yagachi Water Adventure Sports Centre situated 224 kilometres from Bangalore is a tourist spot set up in backwaters of this dam and offers water sports activities, namely jet ski, speed boat, banana boat, bumper ride, kayaking, and cruise boat. The Yagachi River in Karnataka arises in the Western Ghats near the city of Chikmagalur and flows through Belur Taluka, Hassan District. To the north of Chikmagalur town is the Baba Budan Range or Chandra Drona Parvatha as it was known in the ancient times, which has one of the highest mountain peaks between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris. The peak takes its name from the Muslim saint, Baba Budan, who resided here more than 150 years ago and reared coffee from the seeds he had secured from Yemen. The Baba-Budan range has taken its name from the 1895 metres high Baba-Budan Giri, situated just 28 kms north of Chikmagalur town.
Mullayanagiri is part of the Baba Budan Giri Hill Ranges here. It stands 1930 metres and is the tallest peak in Karnataka. There is a small temple on top of the hill. The small hillock in the temple compound is the highest point in Karnataka.

55 Km north from Chikmagalur town is Kemmanagundi, a scenic hill station on the Baba Budan range of hills. Kemmangundi is also known as K.R. Hills after Wodeyar King, Krishnaraja Wodeyar who had made it his favourite summer camp. Kemmanagundi is surrounded by thick forests and a salubrious climate.
Sri Veerabhadreshwara Swamy Temple, at Kallattipura, is in front of Kallathigiri Falls which is known as Kalhatti Falls. The long period of prayers here is said to have been performed by Saint Agastya. Three carvings of elephants decorate the entrance of the temple, a monument dedicated to Lord Shiva which was built during the Vijayanagara period.
One of the famous waterfalls in the range of Baba Bundan Giri is Manikyadhara when decoded as ‘stream of pearls’. The Manikyadhara waterfall has a massive 200 plus steps to reach the top to relish the enchanting view of the vast Western Ghats.
Honnamma Falls is a stunning waterfall situated in Chikmagalur at a distance of almost 25 kilometres from Kemmangundi and one kilometre from the Baba Budan Giri foothill. The waterfall is surrounded by dense natural vegetation giving you a surreal view which is one of the few remarkable places in Karnataka.
10 km away from Kemmanagundi is hebbe waterfalls where water gushes down from a height of 168 metres in two stages. Here water streams down from a height of 168 metres in two stages to form Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls).
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is located 38 km north-west of Chikmagalur town. The sanctuary surrounded by hills has the tributaries of the Bhadra river flowing through it. It is a great place to see Indian bison, elephants, ferocious tiger, panther, sambar, spotted deer, wild beer, porcupine, birds like the peacock, parrot, partridge, pigeon, etc.
